The annual meeting 2014 of European Forum of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Christian Groups took place on the cruise Stockholm-Tallinn-Helsinki-Stockholm under the theme of „Sailing with Hope“ in May 21-25. The theme is derived from Estonian myth of „White Ship“ - mythical ship that brings freedom or takes people away to a better land.
Roman Catholic Preconference
Wednesday 5pm – Thursday 12pm
For the first time ever, the Forum will have a Roman Catholic Preconference. It is open to all Catholics as well as to those who want to make the Roman Catholic Church more LGBT friendly and welcoming. This preconference will offer a space where we can get to know each other better on a personal level and to exchange our experiences within the Catholic Church. The second step will be to strategize on and develop common activities in the future. E.g. a discussion related to the collection of personal testimonies, the two Catholic theological conferences in Rome and Warsaw and the upcoming Bishop’s Synods on Family. We will also look for at other opportunities for advocacy within the church as well as the chances to build a global network of LGBT Catholic groups.
