Forum Conference 8th/9th to 12th of May 2013
Our vocations – as LGBT-Christians, we are called to bear witness to the liberating message of Christ in many different contexts.
During the conference, we want to address
- how we pray and celebrate
- where we find the strength we need, and how we share both our joys and our sorrows
- the different areas we work in, and what we are called to do.
Our vocations may differ, but in the end it is the one God who created us all, the one Christ who is the brother of all of us, the one Spirit who moves us all.
From Wednesday evening till Thursday lunchtime, there will be pre-conferences for women and men, separated by gender.
The Main Conference
On the first evening, after the official opening ceremony, the Forum will present its current work. (the current work of the Forum will be the main topic,). After that, there will be time to get to know each other and meet again. Groups and countries will have the opportunity to introduce themselves with posters. You will receive more information about the posters once you have registered.
On Friday, we will have a panel discussion with representatives from international church organizations, and workshops on a wide variety of topics.
Workshops may cover such diverse topics as
- an LGBT-perspective on bible translations
- choir rehearsal
- strategic narrative and reflective listening as successful tools when working with church leaders and congregations
- being a Christian in a wider LGBT-context
- meditative dancing
- preparation for the World Council of Churches general assembly in October / November 2013 in Pusan / South Korea
Some workshops will also be offered on Saturday morning, parallel to the AGM.
Saturday afternoon will be spent in Zurich. You will have several options for the afternoon, before a public Eucharist service will be held in the Old Catholic Church St-Augustin. We will enjoy a special dinner in the parish hall before we return to Zug for the party.
On Sunday, we will have an outlook on the conference of 2014, before we ask God to bless us all for our onward journeys.
You can register starting in December. Thank you for your patience.
