World Council of Churches
The World Council of Churches is a fellowship of churches which confess the Lord Jesus Christ as God and Saviour according to the scriptures, and therefore seek to fulfil together their common calling to the glory of the one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The European Forum attends the Assembly that meets every 7 years since 1998 in Harare and has been present at other WCC events.
World Council of Churches turns 70—A Report of a Festive Day
You’d hardly expect it, but at the celebration of 70 years World Council of Churches at August 23rd 2018 someone attended who also attended the celebration in 1948. Albert van den Heuvel, now 86 years old, was the secretary-general of the Dutch Reformed Church and the chairman of the VARA, a socialistic broadcasting company in The Netherlands. In 1948 he attended the celebration in the Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam, and now attended the symposium.
2013 Assembly Busan
The 10th Assembly of the World Council of Churches took place in Busan, Republic of Korea, from 30 October to 8 November 2013. The European Forum was present with 4 people.
2011 WCC Peace Convocation
The World Councel of Churches began the Decade to Overcome Violence in 2001. The International Ecumenical Peace Convocation on 17 - 25 May 2011 in Kingston, Jamaica will be a "harvest festival" celebrating the achievements.
