Are you a young LGBT Christian person willing to make LGBT youth have their say on their sexuality and challenges within the Christian churches in Europe? Join us in Albano Laziale/Rome, Italy this year!
The annual conference of the European Forum of LGBT Christian Groups will take place in Albano Laziale/Rome, Italy, on 9-13 May 2018. This year, a special welcome will be reserved to young people!
The theme of "youth" will be in the spotlight not only because the European Forum wants to favour the participation of young people as tomorrow's LGBT Christian leaders, but also because the next Synod of Catholic Bishops that will be held in Rome in October later this year will address the topic of young people. For this reason, the Roman Catholic Church Working Group (RCC WG) of the European Forum has planned advocacy activities in view of that Synod. The Working Group has suggested that this topic should be addressed by young people themselves and for this purposes has offered a number of scholarships to make young people meet and work together.
The young participants will have the chance to have their own pre-conference, to work together on a message to be delivered to the Synod of the Roman Catholic Church and also to share experiences and stories of discrimination or inclusion coming from different countries and different Christian churches in Europe.
The programme is available for people under the age of 30. Standard participation fees for this programme, depending on the duration of stay, are between 200-230 EUR. A limited number of scholarships reducing this fee to 50 EUR is available for those who cannot pay the full fee.
The call for applications is open until 9 March 2018. [UPD: the call is closed.]
