What is the European Forum?

The European Forum of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Christian Groups is an ecumenical association of LGBT Christian groups in Europe.

The European Forum aims to achieve equality and inclusion for LGBT people within and through Christian churches, other religious bodies and multilateral organisations.

The European Forum works for freedom of religion, for human rights and dignity for LGBT people and for an affirmative discourse on human sexuality.

European Forum Grateful for Generous Donation from German Congregation

The European Forum of LGBT Christian Groups wishes to express its extreme gratitude to the Evangelische Kirchengemeinde from Nauheim, Germany, whose members recently chose to donate 1,400 euros to the European Forum’s Agape Fund.

The Protestant congregation, which since 1974 has organised a Christmas market every first Advent, traditionally selects one or two projects to support with half the money raised from this event. At the end of 2017, the Agape Fund of the European Forum was chosen as a beneficiary.

Biggest Donation Thus Far

This represents the largest contribution so far to the Agape Fund in the year 2017-2018.

“I am so happy to be the pastor in this open-minded congregation,” said Stefanie Bischof, of Evangelische Kirchengemeinde Nauheim. “It was no problem for me to suggest that we support the European Forum, and our church Board was unanimous in its decision.”

Agape Fund Vital to Widen Participation in Forum Activities

Over the years, it has provided financial support to dozens of delegates from countries such as Poland, Slovakia, the Russian Federation, Armenia, Ukraine, Serbia, Kyrgyzstan, and Belarus, enabling their full participation in the European Forum’s most important event of the year.
