And GOD saw that it all was excellent!
The European Forum wants to publish a book collecting autobiographical Catholic European LGBTQ-stories. We are looking for autobiographies highlighting both the gap between the orders of the official Catholic Church and your own sexuality and arrangements you made with both sides.
If this topic means something to you personally, we would like to ask for a contribution to our book. What does it mean to you personally to be gay and Catholic at a time, a lesbian Catholic or a Catholic transgender, etc.? Share your own experiences with us: How do you manage to bring religious norms, sexual lifestyle and your own spiritual life together? What hurt you most along the way? What do you find encouraging?
Please send your autobiographical story in form of a written text (no longer than 3-5 pp.) in English or German language latest until December 2011. If you prefer to write your story in an other language, please do so and send it as well. We will try to find someone for translation. If it makes it more comfortable to you, feel free to use alien names and change places or dates. Due to the limited space a book offers us, we can only publish a collection or parts of your texts. So please do not feel disappointed that we have to do an editors work.
We have already received some autobiographical stories. To give you some inspiration you can find short pieces from two of them here:
- From the story of a Czech gay man
- From the story of Diane from Malta
If you have problems with writing, we can offer you to take part in your own network meetings, and collecting your orally told stories in a special workshop organized by us.
Please mail your text or further requests to one of us:

Thanks a lot for sharing your life with us and making this book into a success... or making your catholic LGBTQ-friends contributing to this project. We are exited about your texts!
